BMS College of Law - Bangalore was started during the academic year 1963-64 under the aegis of the BMS Educational Trust. The Trust is named after late Dharmaprakasha Rajakaryaprasaktha B.M. Sreenivasaiah, whose philanthropy resulted in the establishment of the First Engineering College under the Private Management of the State of Karnataka. The present Chairman is Dr. B. V. Acharya, Former Advocate General, Govt. of Karnataka, Bangalore and the other members of the Board of Management consist of persons of eminence in the legal field and also public service.
BMS College of Law - Bangalore has a proud record of 80% of students passing in LL.B., final degree examination of May 2009 with few distinctions. The LL.M. classes, which were conducted successfully for nearly a decade, was taken over by the Bangalore University as a policy matter during the year 1978. Many students passed from BMS College of Law - Bangalore have secured meritorious ranks & several Gold Medals awarded by the Bangalore University & have attained pinnacle in Judiciary, executive & also in profession as practicing Advocates before the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India & various other High Courts of State. Few have preferred corporate sector & they were able to attain good status as legal advisors & law officers in various companies including multinational companies both in India & abroad.
