Hostel: Brooks Institute does not offer the students hostel facility on any form of on-campus residential facility. However, a large number of housing facilities are available around the campus. Student sharing apartments near the campuses of Brooks Institute are offered in association with Collegiate Housing Services (CHS). If necessary, the college also helps students find a roommate. The apartments are typically two-bedroom, with one or two bathrooms. They host four same-gender Brooks’ students each.
The CHS are present on campus during all the Registration days. They also make an appearance on Orientation days. Assistance in completing leases and settling into their new residences is offered to the new students. A housing list is posted by the university on the student portal for students wishing to secure housing on their own. The residences are furnished and inclusive of other basic utilities. Available at higher costs are limited number of private bedrooms. Individual leases tailored to Brooks Institute’s scholastic terms are given.
Infrastructure: Brooks Institute - Santra Barbara offers Bachelors of Fine Arts (BFA) in Professional Photography alongside Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) in Photography. A 30 studio campus, it houses 6 digital labs for student usage. Inclusive of The Mason Street Studio Facility, Cota Street Campus, Galley 27, the campus overlooks the Santa Barbara Harbor and Channel Islands.
Expensive photography equipment is available for the use of the students such as 35mm medium and large format film cameras with wide variety of digital lenses. Additionally, there are electronic flash location and studio lighting kits, digital video cameras and backdrops. The campus has private studios, classrooms, faculty offices and equipment in the Mason Street Facility. The blend of industrial design and bright colors ensures that the galleries and campus facilities blend with the artistic vision of the historic architectural building of the Barbara campus. Gallery 27 is a public gallery.
BFA in Film, MFA in Screenwriting, BS in Visual Journalism and BFA in Graphic Design are taught in the Ventura facility in Sycamore Village. Spread over 8 acres, the campus was formerly a motion picture studio. It hosts the Administrative Building, Library and Cafe. It also houses Sound Stage 1 and 2. Church, town courtyard and other building facades as film sets are found in the back lot. Several digital labs also dot the campus. State-of-the-art equipment is available as well. Macintosh computers, Espon ink-jet photo printers and other high-end equipment are present in the student workstations.
Faculty: While a large body of the in-house faculty are winners of prestigious awards, Brooks Institute - Santra Barbara faculty has a good grasp on teaching tools and is had the inept ability of helping translate their field experiences into valuable lessons that can be imparted as knowledge to the students.
