College of Art - Delhi is an Institution founded in 1942 for advanced training in Visual Art, creative and applied, leading to the Bachelor of Fine Art Course and Postgraduate course of Master in Fine Art.
College of Art - Delhi is under the Faculty of Music & Fine Art of University of Delhi, for all academic matters and completely administrated by the Govt. of NCT of Delhi. The aim of the syllabus/teaching programmes in
College of Art - Delhi is to attain an overall refinement of the student perception not confined to the skills of the profession alone but also to create the kind of intellect as well as emotional cultivation so as to arrive at a level of composite creativity and thought. It prepares the students for creative and applied responsibilities in the world of art and design.
In its period of nearly 67 years,
College of Art - Delhi has progressively grown to ensure an exalted position in the teaching of fine art in the country and comparable to any other art institution in the World. The Faculty members of the college are practicing artists - painters, sculptors and graphic designers of national, international repute, and also a selected group of visiting Faculty who enrich the teaching programmes with their expertise, thus providing the students with the opportunity of discussion and interaction with eminent and contemporary artists, designers and entrepreneurs.
College of Art - Delhi offers infrastructure facilities as per the required norms that consist of accommodation for studios, laboratories and recreational areas and also include the Administrative Block, Computer Centers and studio-cum-workshops for Offset, Metal Casting, Ceramics, Mural, Weaving and Printmaking etc. Services and conveniences for a Canteen, an art material Shop, Sports/Games (Indoor & Outdoor), Yoga and Karate classes are provided for the students. Also, a compulsory Educational Tour is conducted every year for the students of IIIrd Year Specialization Classes.
College of Art - Delhi provides sports facilities like Table Tennis, Badminton, Volley Ball, Basket Ball etc. to its students. Inter-class tournaments are also held every year. Classes in Yoga for the faculty and students for one hour each is held during the sports period as per theory time-table.
