D D Jain College of Education ,Ludhiana on the educational map of the state in 1999 was a historic event. It fulfills the aspirations of the young girl scholars, desirous of pursuing career making higher education course after graduation. Realising that the professional education of teacher is essential for the qualitative improvement of education, the managing committee of S. S. Jain Girls School Committee (Regd.) decided to start the College of Education. The dedicated members of the Managing Committee have worked untiringly with a sense of devotion, zeal and commitment. The Committee is presently headed by Shri. Nand Kumar Jain, a dynamic human and energetic person. The College derives inspiration from great saintly lady Behan Devki Devi Jain Ji
, whose name the college has been christened and who is known all over for her lofty ideals, dense moral fibre, rich intellectual perception, unimpeachable devotion and selfless to humanity. She was a pioneer in women's education in the city.

D D Jain College of Education hostel is well-furnished newly constructed building with a capacity of 60 students (Girls). The hostel is a part of the extended family of the College fraternity. Keeping in mind, the educational needs of the students from outside Ludhiana, an Ultra Modern hostel has been built in the college premises providing accommodation to the students. The college hostel has a commodious, newly constructed, well-furnished hostel equipped with all modern amenities. A student desirous of joining the hostel, on admission to the college, shall apply on the prescribed form available from the college along with brochure containing hostel rules and regulations.
D D Jain College of Education has a well equipped library and reading room with a sizeable number of books on different subjects which provide ample opportunity to the students for study, self education and general knowledge. It remains open during the college hours. D D Jain College of Education subscribes to a large number of Indian and Foreign journals and periodicals in Education, Educational Psychology, Educational Sociology, Educational Planning, Science Education, Educational Technology and many other related to education besides Journals in Hindi, Punjabi, English, Science and Social Studies.
Advancements in Technology is opened many doors in Education. The use of Computers can be a very effective way of learning from hands on experience. D D Jain College of Education has a well furnished Computer Lab with all latest Computers, which caters to the need of B.Ed. students. The Computer Lab also having multimedia projector and internet facility to train the students comprehensively in all the modern technologies which will help them to be a good teacher. It is used for imparting practical training to the students and preparing them to use the computer as a problem-solving tool in teaching
To make the subjects easy to learn, D D Jain College of Education has an Educational Technology lab consisting of all the modern gadgets like Over Head Projector, Film Projector, Colour Television, Video Cassette Recorder, Tape Recorder, Video Camera to be used for education work. Students prepare projective and non-projective material to facilities the teaching learning process. A lot of different types of educational software are also available in the lab. Besides that various types of educational CDs, Video Cassettes, Audio Cassettes are available for learning.

It helps the students to get first hand knowledge about the various scientific principles. It also consists of various improvised apparatuses, models etc. which help to learn about different science experiments.
