Inspired by this noble cause of education, Institute of Management Study – IMS Kolkata began its curriculum from July 2006. It is one of the new age B schools, set up with the objective to provide Undergraduates well as Postgraduate programmes in Management and Computer Application under the affiliation of recognized University. The Institute of Management Study – IMS Kolkata started its maiden batch of BBA and BCA programmes in 2006 under the affiliation of West Bengal University of Technology. Institute of Management Study – IMS Kolkata is a coeducational institution providing equal opportunity in all respect to impart quality education for building up managers, teachers and researchers for the industry, academia and the nation as a whole. In the same academic session, the institute started its maiden batch of Postgraduate programme in Management (PGPM) and MBA under University of Burdwan - Distance Learning, study centre.
The foundation stone of the Institute of Management Study – IMS Kolkata was laid down by Honorable Minister of Sundarban Development, Sri Kanti Ganguly - Government of West Bengal, in the presence of Fr P. C. Matthew, Principal of St. Xaviers College. The Institute of Management Study – IMS Kolkata is a constituent unit of Saha Education Society, Lake Gardens, a Non Profit Making Society registered under Societies Registration Act XXVI of 1961 No. S/IL/ 16378 of 2003 - 2004, established in 2003 to promote Education, Research and Training. The Institute of Management Study – IMS Kolkata provides at present BBA (Hons), BCA, MBA and PGPM courses. The founders of the Institute are well experienced in academics and industry, which is very essential to run a management programme successfully.
One of the most eventful times in human history is perhaps the turn of the new millennium, and with it came the challenges of the new generation, which are many and varied in number; so much so that only the most competent members can survive and hence prosper. These challenges can be won by wisdom and wisdom is knowledge, where, this knowledge can come through education.
The Institute of Management Study – IMS Kolkata campus is an 8 Cotta land with 22,000 Sq.ft constructions in five floors. All the classrooms, common room, canteen etc. are well ventilated with adequate mix of natural light and air along with artificial lights and fans. The entire floor is covered with marble, which assures cleanliness and comfort in the campus. The institute has a manually operated elevator. There are separate toilet blocks for gents and ladies, along with provision of wholesome drinking water in each floor. The computer lab of Institute of Management Study – IMS Kolkata is fully equipped with 30, IBM P4PC, which are well connected with LAN and Internet through power servers such as Windows 2003 Server, Linux Server etc.
The Institute of Management Study – IMS Kolkata library is fully equipped with Textbooks, Journals, Magazines, etc. on Management and Computer Applications. IMS student also gets the facility of BCL and may access other online libraries.
College offers Bachelor, Master, and Post Graduate courses leading to Management and technology stream.
Institute of Management Study – IMS Kolkata have a vibrant Placement cell which helps the students of BBA, BCA, MCA, MBA and other programmes in every possible way to crack their dream job. IMS registers 100% placement for its maiden batch. They have tie ups with different companies such as ICICI Prudential, SREI Infrastructure, Reliance, DIC, KAPL, NNF, HDFC Standard Life and many more concerns offer summer as well as final Placement for the students of IMS.
