OP Jindal Global University – JGU Sonipat is a non-profit global university established by the Haryana Private Universities (Second Amendment) Act, 2009. JGU is established in memory of the Mr. O.P. Jindal as a philanthropic initiative of Mr. Naveen Jindal, the Founding Chancellor. The University Grants Commission has accorded its recognition to O.P. Jindal Global University. The vision of JGU is to promote global courses, global programmes, global curriculum, global research, global collaborations, and global interaction through a global faculty.
JGU’s this vision will in some measure enable the State of Haryana and India to become a provider of international education and a leader in the transnational knowledge economy. JGU is situated on a 60-acre state of the art residential campus. OP Jindal Global University – JGU Sonipat is one of the few universities in India that maintains a 1:15 faculty-student ratio and appoints faculty members from different parts of the world with outstanding academic qualifications and experience. OP Jindal Global University – JGU Sonipat is situated at Sonipat Narela Road, Near Jagdishpur Village Sonipat, Haryana. The vision of JGU is to establish four schools: a Law School, a Business School, a School of Government and Public Policy and a School of International Affairs. OP Jindal Global University – JGU Sonipat has an extremely modern and state-of-the-art infrastructure that goes a long way in facilitating number of services for the students as well as the staff members. Internet in JGU is a state-of-the-art facility provided at all corners of the academic block and student housing.
AT OP Jindal Global University – JGU Sonipat Students, Faculty and staff members have been provided by an individual laptop of a very premium configuration that will suit all their needs and requirements. These laptops are products of Wipro. These laptops are equipped with all possible features that students would expect and desire. It has Windows Vista installed, and comes with and extended three years warranty. The on-site support ensures that any problem encountered by a student in the laptop will be rectified by Wipro’s engineers, who will arrive at the campus itself. All have been provided with a 4GB USB Drive. In addition to the laptop hardware, data loss prevention software has been provided. Anti-virus, port locker, permanent file eraser, PC reporter (asset tagging, tracking and early warning locate laptop) are advanced features equipped in the laptop.
All faculty members and staff have one landline connection. This facility is being provided through Reliance. Internal calls are free. OP Jindal Global University – JGU Sonipat has employed Washex Hospitality Solutions, as the sole and integrated laundry service provider in the campus. The campus services include washing, drying and ironing. At request, even dry-cleaning is also done. Students, Faculty and staff can utilize their services. The University’s laundry room is large enough to house the entire infrastructure. The laundry facility makes use of highly sophisticated imported machines. It has a large automatic washing machine, a hydro-extractor and one huge dryer machine. It also has several iron boards and irons. The facility is manned by skilled employees with a supervisor.
OP Jindal Global University – JGU Sonipat has a permanent health centre, for faculty, staff, students who need medical attention. It acts as a small University’s infirmary, which has all essential equipments installed and 24 hour assistance available. The Health Centre employs a consultant, a permanent physician/doctor, nurse and office boy. The Health Centre also houses a range of important and essential drugs and medicine which can be administered to any student who is in need. There is a stretcher and wheelchair facility available too. OP Jindal Global University – JGU Sonipat has a Café Coffee Day outlet in its premises, inside the Academic Block. The campus has a convenience store close to the student hostels where items of daily needs and snacks are sold.
The campus will be guarded by around 30 guards all the time. U OP Jindal Global University – JGU Sonipat also has Warden/Asst. Warden round the clock inside the campus. There is also an iron barricading to separate construction from non-construction area. There shall be CCTV surveillance as well on all important locations and access points in the campus. HDFC Bank has set up its ATM in the campus. This ATM is captive in nature and is prohibited to be used by outsiders.
This way, OP Jindal Global University – JGU Sonipat has maintained its exclusivity in provision of services to students, faculty and staff. The Bank is also going to set up a branch office here after the RBI approval. Till such date, there shall be a Bank desk, where all transactions can be routed through a personnel deployed by the Bank who will routinely visit the campus to collect orders and submit deliveries, if any.
OP Jindal Global University – JGU Sonipat is equipped with all modern technologies in all classrooms and auditoriums for audio and video systems through Wipro. All classrooms are equipped with speakers, collar microphones for teachers and projector with screen.There are several auditoriums and public lecture halls which have been equipped with a high fidelity video screen, speakers and microphones. The auditorium will also have Video Conferencing feature.
