Seva Sadans R K Talreja College of Arts, Science and Commerce - Ulhasnagar was established in 1961, with the objective of imparting quality education to one and all. The college, an affiliate of University of Mumbai is the pioneer of higher education in the district of Thane. The college offers undergraduate course in commerce, various subjects in Arts and Science, Post graduate course in Hindi, English, Marathi, History, Economics, Botany, Zoology, Microbiology and Commerce. In addition to the regular academic programme, faculty members are involved in various research projects in the field of life sciences. The college gives prominence to the development of personality, aesthetic and moral perspectives.
Seva Sadans R K Talreja College of Arts, Science and Commerce - Ulhasnagar is run by Seva Sadan Trust. Seth Parsram Parumal, a Visionary philanthropist established SEVA SADAN, an educational family Trust in the year 1950 to provide educational facilities to Sindhi Migrants from Pakistan at the time of partition. The trust started New Era School in the year 1950 and constructed the first cement concrete building of Ulhasnagar in 1957. In the year 1961, the trust started Ulhasnagar Girls College, the first college in the entire Konkan region, which was renamed as R.K.Talreja College in the year 1967. Seva Sadan's College of education was started in the year 1964.
The main aim of Seva Sadans R K Talreja College of Arts, Science and Commerce - Ulhasnagar is to provide holistic education. Thus, in addition to the regular academic programme, the college gives prominence to the development of personality, aesthetics and moral perspectives. This provides an opportunity to prepare the young generation to assimilate our complex socio-cultural environment and face the challenges ahead of them.
