During presidency of Dr. B. G. Jawali at HKE Society Smt Chinnamma Basappa Patil Arts, Science and Commerce Degree College – Gulbarga was established on June 1983 at Chincholi on the name of Smt. Chinnamma Basappa Patil Arts and Commerce College and which is affiliated to Gulbarga University, Gulbarga. Beginning there were only 60-70 students enrolled in the college and founder principal was Prof. C. R. Bada. Smt Chinnamma Basappa Patil Arts, Science and Commerce Degree College – Gulbarga offers different kind of undergraduate courses.

The college has Arts and Science and this institution has been running for last 25 years under the enrollment of 7726 students. And those who have studied here in this college all are in higher level jobs, high professionals, educationists, advocates, lecturers, professors, teachers, politicians and some of the students are serving abroad. In this way so many students have given a name and fame to this college in upbringing its future. In the year 2007-08 degree examination the students of our college have passed with more number that to with the 93% and got a name and fame to college for its arrival of light of knowledge.
Smt Chinnamma Basappa Patil Arts, Science and Commerce Degree College – Gulbarga has library of its own building and there are 12,308 books and more than 50 journals and magazines which are related to social, literature, economical, cultural fields. And daily newspapers and magazines are available. The library is kept opened from morning 8 AM to evening 6 PM And especially during examination the library will be opened late night. This library facility is helping out to the students in scoring highest marks in their degree examination. And recently the library has been computerized that to in rural area like Chincholi.
In Smt Chinnamma Basappa Patil Arts, Science and Commerce Degree College – Gulbarga we have National Service Scheme under Gulbarga University, Gulbarga and even we have two units in N.S.S. under these two units our college got state level unit prize in its performance and its result. Even one of our college students Miss. Bhagyalaxmi Nirani has participated in State Level March Fasting on 26th January, 2008.
