Convocation of PGDM (2007-09) batch was held on 16th January, 2010 in the new Jagannath International Management School – JIMS New Delhi Auditorium. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Mr. Ajay Sahai, Director, FIEO and the Guests of Honor were Dr. Jay Dev Sarangi, Additional Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Mr. Manish Gupta, Commissioner, Department of Trade & Taxes and Ms. Ravneet Pawha, Country Head, Deakin University Australia. The Chief Guest presented Diplomas and book prizes to three students who topped their batches. Country Director, Deakin University distributed cash awards worth Rs. 10,000 each to four meritorious students in recognition of their excellent performance in Academics.
Jagannath International Management School – JIMS New Delhi annual marketing festival “Markathon 2010” was held on 31st Jan 2010 in our new ‘state of the art’ auditorium. Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth, Director inaugurated the event amongst great fanfare and enthusiasm. Students from 19 colleges such as Sri Venkateshwara College, Dayal Singh, Bhagat Singh, NIFT, IITM etc. participated in a variety of events. The sponsors for the event were Reebok, Nirula’s, Nike, Mocha Café etc. The day ended with prize distribution by the Chief Guest Sh. D.K. Raina, Senior Vice-President (Marketing), Wire Fabriks Ltd. Blood Bank Camp was organized by Jagannath International Management School – JIMS New Delhi in association with Rotary Blood Bank on Ist. November, 2010 The camp was a success as around 103 units of blood was donated by the students of JIMS, Kalkaji.
The fifth International Conference on “Revisiting Management Practices in Post-Global Recessionary Scenario” was held on March 12th & 13th , 2010 at Vasant Grand Hotel, New Delhi. This Jagannath International Management School – JIMS New Delhi conference was inaugurated by Shri Mangat Ram Singhal, Minister of Law, Social Welfare, Labour and Employment, Government of NCT of Delhi. The key note address was delivered by Dr. Ulrich Bartsch, Economic Advisor, World Bank. Highly illuminating presentations were made by a large number of top professionals from UNDP, UNCHS, Planning Commission, Ministry of Finance and Corporate sector. Noted international economist, Dr. Wolfgang Veit, Professor, Cologne University of Applied Sciences, Germany, also made a presentation at the conference. An industrial trip to Malaysia was organized by Jagannath International Management School – JIMS New Delhi from 16 Jan to 21 Jan 2010. Faculty Ms. Aditi Midha & eight students of PGDM batch visited the RECRON. Factory at Nilai near Kuala Lumpur.
The company manufactures Resin, Fibre, Yarn & Fabric and have 1000 employees on their strength. The students gained an insight into processing of various products. They also interacted with senior management including Mr. G.P. Rao on possible future marketing strategies for RECRON. The students also visited nearby Genting on a leisure trip. College offers Post Graduate course leading to Management stream.
