Lawn-Boy is a brand of lawn mower introduced by
Evinrude Company in the year 1934 and the first one-handed reel power mower in the United States. The owner company i.e. Evinrude after the introduction of Lawn-Boy bought a company named Johnson Motor Wheel Company from a New York based stock brokerage company. In 1936 the company amalgamated into Outboard Marine and Manufacturing Company (OMC) to produce lawn mowers until 1939 after that the production of lawn mowers was temporarily put on hold for sometime and the company started manufacturing outboards for military use that were to be used in World War II. In the year 1988 Lawn-Boy was taken over by Gilson
Brothers Company. After one year again it was taken over by another company named the
Toro Company.
