Lesco stands for Lahore Electric Supply Company that is the company which supplies electricity to Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. To keep pace with this change, the Government of Pakistan recommended a Strategic Plan in 1994 as a result of which the power wing of WAPDA has been unbounded into twelve Companies for generation, transmission and distribution of electricity. Lahore Area Electricity Board was rearranged into one such cooperated item under the name of Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) with effect from 22nd march, 1998, with the Aim of commercialization and eventually privatization. LESCO's area of responsibility includes Civil Districts of Lahore, Kasur, Okara and Sheikhupura.
