Norelco is the American name of a brand of electric shavers owned by Dutch multinational company, Philips. Under this brand name the company manufactures a wide variety of shaving, personal care and other consumer lifestyle products. The name of the brand i.e. Norelco is an acronym for 'North American Philips Electrical Company'. Outside the United States, the company used the brand name of 'Philishave' to sell its personal care products and in the year 2006, the company discontinued the brand name and started using Philips name to all its products.
