The institute was set up in the year 1975 and started its journey from Lajpat Rai Bhawan, Sector-15, Chandigarh to its own building in Sector 27, since 1978 and is devoted to Raja Ram Mohan Roy who was a well known social reformer of India.

El. Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education) (E.T.T.) from the session 2010 – 2012 with intake of 50 students and is recognized by N.C.T.E. and affiliated to Education Deptt. Chandigarh.
