ICFAI Law School is a constituent unit of Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India-ICFAI University, Dehradun. The institute was established in 2004. It is approved by Bar Council of India, Government of India, New Delhi, for its courses in the field of law.
ICFAI Law School Campus is situated in the beautiful locale of the Garhwal Mountain Range which is surrounded by various reputed and prestigious boarding schools making the place abode to education. The verdant 25 Acre Campus area is entirely Wi-Fi enabled. The Campus houses the Administrative Block, the Academic Block, the Library, the Computer Centre, the Caferetia and Sports Complex, etc.
In the rapidly expanding era of cyber age, the legal profession has to march in steps with the developing technologies. ICFAI Law School maintains a state of the art Computer Centre with more than 200 computers. The 10 Mbps TCP/IP lines support 24x7 interner access for all members of the intranet. The students are provided access to all the major legal databases which facilitate in-depth and comprehensive research.
ICFAI Law School library houses an excellent collection of books, jounals, working papers, summer projects and bound volumes of periodicals which makes the Library a learner's paradise. It acts as an abode to multifarious activities ensuring that all necesseary facilities are available under the same roof. The holistic ambience inside the Library is very conducive for learning.
The Auditorium has a capacity to seat more the 600 and is the venue for the various cultural events and hosts of intra-college quizzes to the most awaited programmes of the Annual Day and the Fests.
ICFAI Law School also encourages students to undertake moot court exercises and encourages them to participate at various regional, national and international moot competitions. The Moot Court Hall gives one the feeling of the power of law with its classic furniture layout and ambiance.
The regular classes are held at the academic block. The classes are spacious, airy and well-lit. These elements encourage the faculty and scholars in their pursuit for excellence. The class rooms are air conditioned and are equipped with educational audio-visual equipments, notebooks, computers with large monitors, LCD Projector and network connections.
ICFAI Law School publishes a range of ten Law Journals covering contemporary developments in the field of law. These have been long needed in the legal arena and consist of insightful articles that go beyond case to provide a deeper understanding. ICFAI Law School offers Bachelor of Business Administration-Bachelor of Laws five years integrated law programme with due approval and recognition by the Bar Council Of India.
ICFAI Law School encourages students to undertake internships at various law firms, advocates, corporate houses, corporations & NGOs. The Law School follows are programme of compulsory 8 weeks intern after 3rd year and 20 weeks internship after 1st semester of final year. Students are thereby assigned a project guide and also a faculty guide to whom they require to report and give presentations.
Students are provided grades on their presentations and research which carries equal weightage as that of a subject. This policy is unique and is followed only by ICFAI Law School. It is very well appreciated by the legal fraternity.
The Placement Committee 2010 is an autonomous body constituted and administered by the Law School under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) B. Kumar, Director, ICFAI Law School and Placement Executive, Mr. A. Arora. The Placement Committee consists of 8 members selected by a peer selection process whose preliminary goal is to facilitate the recruitment of the students of the final year.
The Placement Committee is in constant terms and possible interactions with students and prospective recruiters which it seeks to do by facilitating internships and on-campus recruitments. The Placement Committee as of date has been immensely successful in gathering the interests of the companies and aims at providing the best opportunity for the students as well as the recruiters.
