Sinhgad Institute of Pharmacy – SIOP Pune was created with the help of Sinhgad Technical Education Society (STES) was established in the year 1993 by Hon.Prof. M.N.Navale with the objective of providing the basic school education and quality education in the field of Medical, Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Architecture. STES has always emphasized in all round professional development of the students with the perfect blend of curricular and extra-curricular activities. In the rapidly changing global scenario with the implementation of GATT/TRIPS in India, the Pharmaceutical industry and professionals have to play a major role in shaping our national economy. There is an ever growing demand for pharmacy professionals not only in the country but even worldwide.
The museum at the entrance of Sinhgad Institute of Pharmacy – SIOP Pune is very informative and reflects an overview of pharmacy profession and role of Pharmacist in the Health Care System. A modern machine room (Pilot Plant) and Injectable Section (Steril Area) has been developed to give hands on experience and exposure to the students about work culture and skill requirement to work in the Pharmaceutical Industries and in the various new avenues opening in the Pharma sector such as Clinical Pharmacy, Community Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Drug Regulatory Affairs Novel Drug Delivery and Discovery of new drug molecules.
